Above everything else, we need to be working together, inside and outside, to make things happen. Jennifer Svensson
Jennifer Svensson joined Competentia in 2015 in the Houston office.
A ten year veteran of the staffing industry, she had worked on blue chip accounts for some of the industry’s leading Oil & Gas employers. For her, the decision to move to Competentia was all about the people.
“The people working with Competentia are all hired for a reason,” she says.
“It comes down to people with solid backgrounds in the industry, with great reputations, that know how to get the job done. We’ve all worked across a portfolio of industry clients, and Fortune 500 clients – many spread across the world.”
Jennifer is responsible for the development of new and existing clients in the NSA region. Her specialities include upstream, downstream, LNG and midstream, and alternative energy. Her philosophy is based on a pursuit of quality at the expense of more traditional recruitment models that involve high volume.
Her day-to-day role involves a busy mix of front end client development, recruiting, contract negotiating, operations and putting out the occasional fire. Above all, it is the connections she builds every day with her clients and contractors that she finds most fulfilling.
“It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a team of people to really deliver for our clients. Above everything else, we need to be working together, inside and outside, to make things happen. This is why Competentia is so different. You can work in an entrepreneurial atmosphere, where results are important, without compromising your integrity, or the fact that people need to come first.”
A native Houstonian, Jennifer graduated froem the University of Texas at Austin and lives locally with her husband and one year old daughter Olivia.
“My husband, Bo, and I love to travel, and have passed that gene on to Olivia, who already has 3 stamps in her passport.”
