We have an exciting new opportunity to work with our client on a major project in Alberta. 

Our client is looking for an Operations Manager to join their team in Calgary.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager reports functionally to the Engineering & Technical Manager.

Leading the efforts required to ensure that during the detailed engineering phase of the project that an operations and maintenance focus is taken into consideration in all project activities.
Act as the main focal point of contact for all Operations input and deliverables as well as operating functionality of the overall design of the facility (Human Factors Engineering – HFE – Review). 
Mentors and provides guidance to all Operation Reps in each Area/Unit.  As well the Operations Manager will provide input into the development of the Asset Organization. This would include items such as preliminary staffing plan, Training Plan, Recruiting Plan that assist in defining the resource requirements on site as part of the overall facility design. 

The Operations Manager is also responsible to develop and implement the Commissioning & Start up Plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizing and planning work load and deliverables of the Area Operations Reps.
  • Reviews of Project Philosophies and Strategies with a focus on operations requirements.
  • Develop Project Operations & Maintenance Philosophy
  • Develop Project Operations & Logistics Plan that is consistent with the overall Project goals.
  • Participate in all technical and logistical reviews for the engineering, operations and logistics of the facility and its future operating activities.
  • Identify the Procedure Requirements for both Operation and CSU
  • Develop with the Team and EPC contractors the project Systemization Philosophy
  • Develop within the overall program team the Commissioning Logic and Schedule in conjunction with Construction activities and Licensor requirements.
  • Develop within the overall program team the project Turnover DOR and Turnover Procedures
  • Develop Asset Operations Readiness Plan
  • Implement Licensor Performance Test Plan
  • Ensure Operations input into Vendor ITP and witness tests as appropriate
  • Ensure O & M requirements are identified in RFQ and ITB documents
  • Ensure O & M Participation in Module Yard execution activity
  • Ensure Building & infrastructure design is developed to suit the Asset Owner requirements. Consider HSSE and Regulatory Codes and Regulations are included in the design.
