JACKET STRUCTURAL ENGINEER


We now need a Jacket Structural Engineer who will be located in the EPSC Contractor premises, and will:
  • supervise the engineering, construction, transport and installation activities to ensure those are performed as per the contract requirements.
  • report the activities progress and any issue related to the contract to the Jacket Leader. 
  • ensure that the Project Structural Lead Engineer is informed of the jacket design issues and has agreed on the specifications deviations.

Activities:
  • Ensure that the jacket structural design will be performed in accordance statutory regulations, guidelines and general Specifications and that the engineering will be delivered within the approved timeframe
  • Check that the jacket construction, transport, installation and in place weight remains within the NTE launch weight and weight budget. Validate the weight method used by EPC contractor. 
  • Provide assistance in the interface activities and check the contractor performance.
  • Check that T&I6 and 7 contractor inputs will be included in the jacket deign.
  • Prepare the structural input to documentation necessary to implement modification requests.
  • Prepare inputs to the jacket weekly report of discipline.
  • Collect the engineering and construction documents and coordinates the preparation of the documents necessary to monitor the work.
  • Verify shop drawings submitted by the Contractor and ensure compliance with the approved detail engineering documents.
  • By the performance of daily visit of the work, check that the work is performed according to the latest documents submitted by the Contractor. Pay particular attention to make his checks according to approved detail engineering documents. Ensure proper management of the defect in a way that those will comply with Company Specifications and that it will not delay the work.
  • On regular basis and as much as needed, update the master mark-up, expedite the Contractor for updates and monitor the progress of the as-built documents.
  • Issue NCR for his discipline, expedites and monitors the implementation of remedial actions. Maintains the NCR register updated.
  • Supervise the erection workplace preparation (Quay, reinforcement, pilling, skid ways …) and report the progress of the work.
  • Supervise the load-out preparation and performance. Provided all needed support to the T&I lead.
  • Monitors the preparation of lifts in a general manner and provides specific attention to heavy and critical lifts. 
  • Assist the HSE team in the preparation of lifting operations, prepare and attend to any meeting required

Qualification/Experience:

  • Engineer with 5 to 10 years experience with jacket design and calculations in the North Sea and familiar with NORSOK requirements.
  • Experience with calculation programs ( SESAM, USFOS, STAADPro, ....), ability to evaluate modelling and calculation results.   
  • Experience in jacket fabrication follow up. 
  • Good knowledge of the English language in writing and verbal.

The Contractors premises are subject to change during the different phase of the work performance and the position will be moved offshore during the installation.
