Ichthys LNG is comprised of three large distinct projects, combined into one. Onshore and Offshore facilities are connected by over 5oo miles of pipeline. The project is under construction and will begin production in late 2017. The field was discovered and developed by INPEX Australia in the Browse Basin in 2000.

The project consists of a two train LNG processing facility, a water treatment facility, and a gas plant and a port facility for loading and transport. There are also miles of pipeline, and supporting work including power plants, roads and other elements of civil infrastructure.
